Mustard Finance Group

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA

Mustard Finance Group (previously Setana Capital) is a working capital finance provider dedicated to empowering South Africa’s small, micro and medium-sized retail businesses with fast, accessible stock and short-term capital solutions. Working with Allan Gray Makers and E Squared Investments, they launched South Africa’s first artisanal fund. The initiative provides accessible, growth-focused financing for tradespeople such as electricians, welders, and construction workers. It marks a significant step toward empowering skilled artisans and strengthening the country’s technical and vocational ecosystem.  By embedding finance into existing supplier networks and leveraging an alternative credit-scoring engine that assesses real business performance rather than traditional collateral, Mustard Finance Group helps entrepreneurs bridge cash-flow gaps, seize growth opportunities, and build resilience in competitive markets. Driven by a mission to reduce inequality through financial inclusion, the company envisions an African economy where no viable business is held back by lack of access to capital.
